Claire was a hotel events manager; her sister Juliet was a florist. In 2012 a friend’s planner quit two weeks before the wedding, so they stepped in. It rained, the generator failed and the caterer got lost. It was still the best night of the couple’s life.
That’s the job, as we see it: absorb everything that goes wrong so nothing feels wrong. We plan 22 weddings a year, never more, so every couple has us fully.

We live in Chicago and planned our whole wedding by video call. Claire handled 40 vendors and we only had to choose the things we cared about.
A storm rolled in at 4pm. By 4:20 the ceremony was under the loggia and nobody knew there had ever been a Plan A.
